NEVER would I have thought that this song would or could be used as hip hop track, but it sounds so GOOD! That and you really dug into my collection; I forgot that I had written this song! Fantastic job, bro, you made my day!

budjohnson responds:

Dude I'm so glad you saw it and even liked it! I've written a few songs over a lot of your stuff, but most of them I wrote as punk or rock songs and I don't sing. So I'll probably release them soon in hopes someone likes them enough to re-sing them. Lol

God Damn, this kicks all sorts of ass! Everything is really good, but for a recording band, I would say it would have to be. Regardless, you have a fan!

Those turtle beach headsets sound pretty good! It does have bits of knocking about, but it doesn't detract from the overall quality of the music. Your playing is pretty good, as is your compositional abilities. I'd say you have lots of potential.

Jesus, man...

Listening to this and your other works have got me thinking; I should start working on my chops again, holy hell! I've been playing for 8 years and my playing is nowhere near as clear as yours! Not only that, its tasteful, and razor sharp.

Right, on to the music,

I love it! It absolutely lifts me to a state of elation, and gets my head bobbing. Everything about the sound is well done: Instruments (VSTi or otherwise) well played, that bass tone is just orgasmic, and the creative use of record scratches to accent that melody, along with the samples. It loops well, offering a great opportunity to let it truly sync in as I write this. Also that lick at about the 00:10 mark is fantastic; well played , clear, and was a great complementary piece to the rest of the track. My only gripe is that this loop is a tad bit loud, but its not enough to knock any points off.

Overall a damn fine job (though that's an understatement), but nothing less could be expected, as proved by your previously submitted tracks.

5/5, 10/10

A tip of my hat to you sir (whether this means anything coming from a relative newbie to the newgrounds scene, is up to you, haha)

(also excuse the long review)

Hell yes, I love these long reviews, and a 10, thanks! I'm realizing I've pushed the limiter plug in too far that's why it's this loud. I'm lowering the overall level in a minute and I'll change the file :). Thanks for the advice.

Also, I've been playing for 5 years so I'm not far from your 8 years :). Well I'm just amazed with all those compliments man, I can just thank you. I really like those reviews, helpful and make me want to keep submitting my shit on here.

Thanks so much. I'll make sure to review you back! <3

Fuuuuuuuu...

...king good job! Its the best recordings I've heard in a while, the bass is face meltingly thick, the guitars come out razor sharp, and the drum levels are just right. All instruments shine in their own right, and come together to form a cohesive and enjoyable piece of work.

5/5, 10/10, and adding you to my favorite artists!

Dat Voice!

Jesus, If I had at least a tenth of your vocal abilities, I'd be more than happy to sing on my own tracks, but no, life is not fair!

Everything about this song is just well done. There really isn't anything that sounds out of place; it flows smoothly. The recordings themselves sound top notch, no hiss, no air, no pops, nothing. Its just amazing.

One day I hope to get to this level, but for now I'll stand aside in awe, with my jaw to the floor. 5/5, 10/10

Thanks dude!
If you go through all my old horrible sounding stuff, you'll see that I worked pretty hard to get here. I've often contemplated taking it all down, but it serves as a testament to those, that hard work and practice DOES pay off!!

Glad you like it, dude. Thanks for the review and vote! \m/

We should do up a collab one day. Your music kicks some ass.

Hell Yeah!!!

I can definitely imagine myself cruising down the road with this blasting. Thoroughly enjoying it, nodding my head, and looking forward to more!

durn responds:

sweet as, would love to know how it sounds blastin' in a car. I'm a transit hound myself as I live right downtown in Toronto so no chance for me to hear it from a car system. :)

thanks for the kind review! :D

Evolution of sound,,,

Lots of great Ideas floating around in this, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The most striking part for me was the section in the middle, where that melody shows it self in full form. From then onward its an ear-gasm.

Only thing that bugged me was that thumping bass sound, which felt as if it overshadowed the guitar work; maybe bringing down the mix on the bass sound would help. That said the mixing in the ambient section was down right beautiful.

Anyways, 5/5 8/10.

Ritz190 responds:

haha thanks dude! yea i decided to do that because it felt like it was a great idea of a mix. the bass sound was supposed to hip hop type mixed with rock drumming. i guess it seemed like a good idea at the time, but i guess it's just not perfected yet. thanks for the review man! ;)

Holy Fuck!

HI, uber noob here, just stopped by to say what a damn good song this is.

Those dissonant chords combined with that melody near the beginning are a great idea. Later on in the song I hear something very familiar to my pallet. Are you by any chance familiar with Liquid Tension Experiment. From 3:20 onward, I would like to say, reminds me of Dream Theater (more specifically, the Glass Prison) and LTE's paradigm shift. Was that intentional, or am I thinking about this too hard? LOL

Anyways, fucking amazing song \m/.

Metaljonus responds:

Thanks man! You pretty much nailed what I was going for with the middle part. Dream Theater and LTE are pretty big influences to me. Thanks again! \m/
