[Tha Ritz - Down, But Not Out]

Evolution of sound,,,

Lots of great Ideas floating around in this, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The most striking part for me was the section in the middle, where that melody shows it self in full form. From then onward its an ear-gasm.

Only thing that bugged me was that thumping bass sound, which felt as if it overshadowed the guitar work; maybe bringing down the mix on the bass sound would help. That said the mixing in the ambient section was down right beautiful.

Anyways, 5/5 8/10.

haha thanks dude! yea i decided to do that because it felt like it was a great idea of a mix. the bass sound was supposed to hip hop type mixed with rock drumming. i guess it seemed like a good idea at the time, but i guess it's just not perfected yet. thanks for the review man! ;)

HI, uber noob here, just stopped by to say what a damn good song this is.

Those dissonant chords combined with that melody near the beginning are a great idea. Later on in the song I hear something very familiar to my pallet. Are you by any chance familiar with Liquid Tension Experiment. From 3:20 onward, I would like to say, reminds me of Dream Theater (more specifically, the Glass Prison) and LTE's paradigm shift. Was that intentional, or am I thinking about this too hard? LOL

Anyways, fucking amazing song \m/.
